Enable tracking in the embedded app

Access the Product tracking preferences page in the Serializer app to enable tracking for individual variants or multiple variants at once.

Edit a single variant

Edit tracking preferences inline for individual product variants:

1. Navigate to the Product tracking preferences page in the Serializer app

2. Locate the variant you want to edit in the table

3. Click any field in the variant's row to begin editing

1. Configure tracking preferences:

   • Check "Track individual items" to enable tracking for this variant. When enabled, item input field checkboxes become available. Note: Serial numbers are automatically tracked when "Track individual items" is enabled.

   • Select which custom fields to track (if configured in Settings)

   • Check "Track warranty" to enable warranty tracking. If enabled, enter default warranty duration (value and unit: days, months, or years)

1. Click "Save" in the row

The variant's tracking preferences are now updated.

Edit multiple variants

Enable tracking for multiple variants at once using bulk actions:

Select variants

1. Navigate to the Product tracking preferences page

2. Select variants using checkboxes on the left side of each row

   • Select specific variants by clicking individual checkboxes

   

   • Select all variants by clicking the checkbox in the table header on the left of the "Product" column

   

   • Select all product variants matching a search query (if any) for bulk editing

   
3. Click "Edit tracking preferences" in the bulk actions bar at the bottom of the table

Configure preferences

A modal opens showing which variants will be updated

1. Configure tracking preferences in the modal:

   • Check "Track individual items" to enable tracking

   • Under "Tracked item input fields", select which fields to track:

     • Serial number (automatically included)

     • Custom fields (select from configured fields)

     • Warranty duration

   • If warranty is selected, enter default warranty duration (value and unit)

1. Click "Save"

For bulk selections (all variants matching a search term), a progress tracker shows the background job status. For smaller selections, changes apply immediately.
